Happy Holly Days
Celebrate the 2013 holiday season in an “Old Florida” way. Traditional decorations adorn the outdoor museum’s homestead buildings, and beautiful white lights are glistening at Mary’s Chapel, White Cottage, Mrs. Palmer’s Pergola and Sunken Garden, and in the unique mangrove tunnel. We are open Thursdays and Fridays until 8 for lights viewing and thank Gulf Coast Community Foundation for its generous support of Holly Days and Mangrove Lights.
Come and mingle with costumed historical interpreters on December weekend days and enjoy educational and entertaining conversations. Please call 941-966-5214 x210 for Saturday and Sunday schedules. Ask about a docent-led tour, too!
Members can enjoy the above Holly Days and Mangrove Lights activities free and pay just $5 per guest. General admission fees otherwise apply.
Our annual Holly Holiday Party is Friday, December 6, from 5 until 8 p.m. The Sarasota Pops 4-U will play holiday and classical tunes, and light refreshments will be available. Walk the mangrove tunnel and enjoy the lights! This special event is free for our Members. ($5 Members’ guests; $12 General Public.)
The annual Members’ Holiday Shopping Day is Tuesday, December 10 in the Museum Store. Shop from 9 until 5 and take 20% off all of your purchases (except for consignment items). Stock up on stocking stuffers, jigsaw puzzles, books, jewelry, jam and jelly, and more!
